The Value of Advocacy

Social, political, and economical impacts are directly traced to LAUP initiatives which have provided many opportunities for the Latinx community. Through these programs highlighted below, over the past 20 years LAUP has accelerated meaningful change in Holland.

LAUP's Importance

LAUP has given a voice to an otherwise silenced community in Holland that has now began to take steps forward toward equality and inclusion. Without their initiatives, it is possible that the Latinx community would not be close to the place they are today socially, politically, and economically.

This digital exhibit is made possible by a partnership with the Hope College Van Wylen Library, members of the Fall 2021 IDS395 cultural heritage course, Joint Archives of Holland, MI, Holland Museum, and the Latin Americans United for Progress (LAUP).
