Concerned Citizens Speak Up

On March 27th, 1978, Lupita Reyes formally notified Human Relations Commissioner, Alfredo Gonzales, of the formation of the Ad Hoc Committee of Concerned Citizens in Ottawa County. This letter indicated that the group wishes to present to the Board of Commissioners and submit their requests to Kenneth Raak and the entire Board of Commissioners in order to protect the Latinx community.

"In order to adequately present our case, we will need all the data and statistics we can gather regarding services provided by the county for Latinos, affirmative action programs by the county in the area of employment."- Mrs. Lupita Reyes, Chairperson Ad HOC Committee, 1978
