Reflection and Action

Reflecting

Before interacting with this exhibit, did you ever think about the types of resources and support that you received while going through the education system?

Thinking about resources….

How were the resources you needed different from the resources that another student may have needed?

Thinking about representation...

How many teachers did you have who looked like you? How did this impact your education?

Questions to think about after viewing the exhibit

If you have never considered how different your educational experience may have been, here are ways you can further the conversation in your own life:

  • Learn about the statistics of representation in your field: your workplace, school, church, etc.

  • Why do you think they are that way?

  • Who are the people in positions of leadership?

Want to take it a step further? Here’s how:

  • Advocate for resources that help everyone, not just the majority group.

    • Ask yourself: “Who is at the table, who has a voice?”

    • Talk to the leadership teams in your life and welcome more diverse perspectives

  • Donate to scholarships for Latinx students
