LAUP History

Summary

Hosted by LAUP, Fiesta offers a sense of awareness to the Latinx culture in the Holland community by showcasing different acts of traditional dancing, clothing, and music. LAUP has inspired community participation and engagement within the organization by reaching out to members and hosting gatherings for the community. The Fiesta Queen was central to the heart of the celebration. Fiesta Queen contestants advocated for the Holland area community. Contestants were the voices heard outside of their community. This voice provided awareness of problems within the community that may otherwise have not been heard. Beautifully intertwined with this advocacy, the Fiesta Queen showcased cultural awareness through authentic clothing and dance.
