In 1989 Fiesta organizers welcomed community members to showcase traditions from any Latinx country and moved the celebration to Cinco de Mayo. This shared representation celebrated the multicultural origins of the Latinx community through a shared Cinco de Mayo tradition. The festival brought together a large range of Latinx origin countries.
