The Community's Role In Fiesta Queen

The Fiesta Queen Competition valued the representation that the contestants could have in the community, and the message that their participation could send. The contestant selection focused strongly on the value of education, asking that the participants remain in good standing at school and highlighted their future educational plans. As highlighted in their materials, their goal was "an emphasis on education as a motivating factor for Latinx women."

The Fiesta Queen competition valued education in a way that prompted motivation among contestants.
